A Nice Quiet Game at Fado

And I qualified last night! There is just something nice about playing at Fado. The crowd is a little more mature, and everyone is there to have a good time. No one plays like it is a 'life or death' game.

Of course it helps that Fado give away a round of drinks for certain hands...and three weeks in a row, the table that I have been playing at has won the round. Last night, the prize was for a Jack-9 straight.

While I know that playing recreational tournaments doesn't even close to simulating an actual tournament--it does give me some practice in learning to read people and gives me practice in betting. Playing online has taught me patience, and how to fold against bullies.

Taking time off from poker is probably a good idea at this time...I hadn't realized that I had been playing almost every night since December. That's alot of playing...and alot of miles on my car! And I probably have missed many other exciting things going on in Austin.

We'll see....I could change my mind tomorrow....
